CALL TO ACTION

Religious Campaign for Forest Conservation

May 7-10, 2006 Washington D.C.

The Religious Campaign for Forest Conservation (RCFC) has issued a call for a new religious campaign on Washington. RCFC has invited all religious communities who are concerned about the threat this administration represents to God's creation to attend an expanded Washington Week event.

Events will begin on Monday morning, May 8th, with a national prayer breakfast on creation care. Visits are scheduled with hundreds of House and Senate legislators with the message that religion is unified on the importance of caring for the earth. Four issues will be addressed: the importance of protecting public lands, especially forests and wilderness; holding off the forces of climate change; saving endangered species; and stopping mountain top removal. Participants should be prepared to address at least one of these issues.

For more information about how you can make your voice heard in Washington, contact Fred Krueger at Fred@ecostewards.org or call 717-573-3161.
