EARTHKEEPING NEWS A NEWSLETTER OF THE NORTH AMERICAN COALITION FOR CHRISTIANITY AND ECOLOGY Volume Eight, Number Four May/June 1999 FLORIDA CHURCHES FOCUS ON ENVIRONMENT The Florida Council of Churches, with 26 member church judicatories, has initiated a new program, Cherishing the Creation, to raise environmental awareness in congregations across the state. Eco-Justice Coordinators from each of the judicatories are being recruited to form the Cherishing the Creation Committee of the Council. Five-person teams will be trained to help implement neighborhood assemblies, and to reach local congregations. A pilot project is underway in the Tallahassee area. For more, write Rev.
