ALLIANCE OF BAPTISTS PUBLISHES ECO-ACTION MANUAL FOR CHURCHES

In 1995 the Alliance of Baptists, a coalition of 125 progressive congregations, primarily in the Southern Baptist communion, formed a Work Group on Ecology to examine the relation between environmental and faith concerns of the Christian community. Their report, Care for the Earth: An Invitation to Reflection and Action, focuses on ecology as the central theme which must be interwoven into all areas of the church's thought, action, worship and spirituality, if the church is to minister effectively in our time. Resources are included to help individuals and congregations implement their covenant to Care for the Earth.
