EARTH LITERACY MASTERS PROGRAM – A FIRST OF ITS KIND

Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods College, founded by the Sisters of Providence in 1840, and located in the Middle Wabash-Busseron Watershed near Terre Haute, Indiana, is offering a 36 credit-hour Masters degree program in the theory and practice needed to create a just and sustainable Earth Community.

Accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the curriculum includes 24 hours of interdisciplinary, team-taught courses using the perspectives of the natural and social sciences, the humanities, the arts, and spirituality. Course titles include: Concepts of Earth Literacy, Principles of Evolution and Change, Nature and Cultures, Justice and the Earth, Healing Earth, and Integrative Seminar. An additional 12 credit hours are devoted to internship and practicum within students' areas of interest.
