Small Church Writes to Big (and Little) B-Schools

Excerpts from a letter sent to the Regents of Harvard, University of Wisconsin, University of Chicago. and Lakeland College by Tom Herschelman for Saron United Church of Christ Eco-Justice Task Force, W3238 Woodland Rd., Sheboygan Falls, WI 53085; email: tombwca@mail.tcbi.com.

We pray that God be with you, and bless you in your education of our youth.... The Saron EJTF believes religious ethics, economics and the preservation of God's creation are interrelated.... We believe that all humans are responsible to heal, honor and protect the earth, and we request the School of Business to fulfill its responsibility by educating our business leaders on how businesses and governments can restore natural biodiversity.... We recommend that, in addition to business ethics, an environmental biodiversity class be offered as a requisite for an undergraduate or masters degree in business.... Our only hope is for businesses to recognize the intrinsic holiness of the creation and the need to preserve its functioning.
