NCC INITIATES COVENANT
CONGREGATION PROGRAM

The National Council of Churches of Christ (NCC) Eco-Justice Working Group has produced materials to help congregations implement an Environmental Justice Covenant for Healing and Defending God's Creation. The covenant is a tool through which the governing body of a congregation makes a promise that its congregation will engage in ecological ministries. Subjects covered in the covenant include worship, education, lifestyle and involvement in the global, national and local communities. Congregations are encouraged to implement all four categories to reflect the holistic nature of the environmental justice enterprise.

The Covenant and a list of 35 eco-justice resources are available from Environmental Justice Resources, NCC, PO Box 968, Elkhart IN 46515; 800/762-0968; fax: 219/262-0966.
