Volume Six, Number Three March/April 1997 NATIONAL COUNCIL OF CHURCHES (NCC) OFFERS TRAINING FOR ECO-JUSTICE COORDINATORS, May 15 - 18, 1997A national gathering to develop an interdenominational network of eco-justice coordinators (or enablers) will be held in May at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado. The NCC Eco-Justice Working Group will pay the training expenses of coordinators in the American Baptist Churches, Church of the Brethren, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, National Baptist Convention of America, Episcopal Church, Presbyterian Church (USA), Reformed Church in America, United Methodist Church, United Church of Christ and several Orthodox communions. Highlights of the four days include major presenters, daily worship, theological reflections, issue workshops, sharing and skill-building for work with congregations and middle governing bodies, sessions on public policy, lifestyle change, worship and education, denominational meetings, and communing with nature.
