SIXTY WOMEN ORGANIZE SISTERS OF EARTH NETWORK

In July 1994 sixty women, most of whom were members of religious communities, from 17 states and Canada met at St. Gabriel's Center for Ecology and Contemplation in Clark's Summit PA, to bring to birth an informal network called Sisters of Earth. They are convinced that as women pool their energies and resources in a common effort, hidden power will be released to bring about a changed relationship between humans and the rest of creation. The network is open to all women whose life and work would identify them as Sisters of Earth.
