EARTHKEEPING NEWS A NEWSLETTER OF THE NORTH AMERICAN COALITION FOR CHRISTIANITY AND ECOLOGY Volume Four, Number Five May/June 1995 CHRISTIAN FARMERS OF ONTARIO WRESTLE WITH BIOTECHNOLOGY Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario (CCFO) in February and March hosted 18 workshops across the province on biotechnology ("Genetic Monsters or Giant Strides for Agriculture?"). The workshops helped sort fact from fiction, challenging participants to understand the advantages and disadvantages of biotechnology and its uses. Participants were encouraged to view the technology through the eyes of a Christian steward. After tabulating the findings, CCFO plans to use them in its policy development and other initiatives.
