Predators

Roadkill.
Not much thought for the
Creatures
Heavy or small.
There, there and there.

Bulldoze.
No questions about the critters
Killed or surviving.
Bulldoze. Push
Acres and acres of habitat
Down. Completely down.

Blacktop.
No knowledge, no notice of the
Land before,
Of its specialness of place,
Its sculptured store.
Roll and seal
Geocide and biocide.

Slaughterhouses.
The end of the line after a life of
Torture
In crammed animal factories
Where no movement is allowed,
Stress is gross,
And meals are drugs.
Meat.
Meat for millions.

The Wolf
We fault for taking a lamb.
We instead, seize the flock,
The wolf,
The land beneath their feet,
The chase,
The chance to escape, and
The place to play,
The place to rest.

The Wolf
Is not us.
