EARTHKEEPING NEWS A NEWSLETTER OF THE NORTH AMERICAN COALITION FOR CHRISTIANITY AND ECOLOGY Volume Three, Number Three January/February 1994 UTAH UCC CENTER DEVELOPS WHOLE EARTH CHURCHES The Wellness, Health And Lifestyle Education (WHALE) Center, in Sandy, Utah, associated with the Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Church of Christ, conducts training sessions for teams from congregations who have committed themselves to study and act on environmental concerns, and who have declared themselves Whole Earth Churches. Over 30 UCC congregations and related agencies across the country have signed the pledge to live out a whole earth commitment. The teams in training create vision statements and action plans for their own communities. One participating church (Holladay UCC in Utah), as a result, has begun a Sacred Tree Adult Education Program, supported a second Whole Earth Training, and established a Moment for Creation in Sunday worship.
