Volume One, Number Three January/February 1992 READERS WRITEYEAR ROUND GARDENINGDear Editor, Although the snow is high and the temperature low, each day we gather fresh vegetables and flowers from the 350 sq.ft. solar greenhouse attached to our house. Its roof and east wall are made of argon filled heat mirror glass, triple glazed. The argon gas layer keeps out ultraviolet rays during the day. At night it keeps in the warmth radiated by the 1200 gallon passive solar water storage drums that have been collecting the sun's heat. Such a greenhouse can extend the benefits of Community Supported Agriculture in cold climates the year-round. An added bonus – the plants sing to me when I sit in the greenhouse for a quiet hour of painting and meditation. Alexandra McKellar
