NACCE, Partner in National Council of Catholic Women's Program, The Earth: In Our Hands

The National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW) has initiated a program to give people an opportunity to work with public and private agencies on natural resources issues. NCCW has distributed to 8,000 affiliates The Earth: In Our Hands program packets,with suggestions for action, lists of organizations, fact sheets and brochures from participating organizations, and more. Current partners include : USDA Forest Service and Soil Conservation Service, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, National Catholic Rural Life Conference, North American Conference on Christianity and Ecology, The Associates of NCCW, Inc., Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Diocese of Baton Rouge, and Diocese of Youngstown and Margaret Harris. Additional partners are welcome.

The Au Sable Institute, a Christian environmental stewardship institute cooperates with 61 Christian colleges in USA and Canada, to offer students credit courses and internships toward certification as Naturalist, Land Resources Analyst, Water Resources Analyst, and Environmental Analyst. Its Environmental Education Center also serves over 5,000 K-12 students annually. The Institute's mission is the integration of knowledge of the Creation with biblical principles, for the purpose of bringing the Christian community and general public to a better understanding of stewardship of God's Creation. Director Dr. Calvin B. DeWitt, is Professor of Environmental Studies, University of Wisconsin, Madison.
